Male Abuser Relearning Group Co-facilitator

Male Abuser Relearning Group Co-facilitator
for
Wednesday 12 noon – 4 p.m. DV education classes AND
Friday 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. group

Qualifications: High School Diploma; college degree preferred
Knowledge of domestic violence issues
Excellent communication skills
Some evenings and Saturday hours required; flexibility in scheduling a must

Reports to: Abuser Intervention Program Coordinator

Responsibilities:

1. Complete Domestic Violence 40 Hour Training and Abuser Intervention Facilitator 20-Hour Training.
2. Obtain PAIP certification within one year and 30 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) over two years.
3. Complete specific training for Abuser Intervention Program.
4. Attend additional trainings as requested/required by Program Coordinator.
5. Review weekly lesson based on the curriculum, and prepare any handouts.
6. Before start of class, collect fees; during class or break, write and distribute receipts to participants.
7. Prepare monthly Evaluation Criteria for each participant at the end of the last class of each month; have female facilitator review and make any corrections.
8. Record attendance and payments on Attendance Recap sheet and record attendance and evaluations on Group Recording sheets during each class. (Female co-facilitator keeps these sheets between classes.) Submit this folder to Program Coordinator at the end of each month.
9. Submit Sign-In sheets, fees, and receipts to Coordinator within two days after class.
10. Keep track of balances due; present written reminders or warnings when behind in their payments.
11. Always support remarks made by the female co-facilitator during class. Discuss any differences outside of the classroom setting.
12. Correct participants when they use sexist or racist language.
13. Attend bimonthly Abuser Intervention Program facilitators meeting.
14. Attend other DV related meetings as assigned by the Coordinator.
15. Attend SSFS All-Staff meetings.
16. Work with other staff to maintain open communication and develop a team approach.
17. Other duties as assigned.
