Job Title: Programmer / Customer Service
Company: QA International, Ltd.
Job Type: Full Time, Part Time
Degrees Wanted: None Required
Majors Wanted: Any Major
Location: Illinois
Salary: Negotiable based on duties.
Job Description: Our web-based management system uses an SQL database. Programming is ASP, HTML and .net. For report generation we use Crystal. Our past programmer hard-coded everything, he did not use any tools to write the code. It's all manual, in terms of programming. There are about 500 ASP files and 100 files in Crystal. I need someone that would be able to learn what the programmer did and help solve immediate issues that come up by looking through the code. We have a few bugs already that need to be fixed. But the most important thing will be to document everything. Nothing is documented. Our current operating system is Windows 2003. Eventually we want to get away from all Windows based products so knowledge of other operating systems (UNIX, LINUX, etc.) is a plus. Any knowledge of Apache Tomcat or other non-Windows based platforms and programs would be beneficial. We already started the conversion but put it on hold so we would want to pick that up again as well. That's the programming side of our need. The other part, if we can find someone who wants to do both, would be to do general office work, answer phones and customer questions.
