Graduate Assistant / Writing Center Consultant/Tutor

Minimum Qualifications
1.Hold a bona fide baccalaureate degree. 2.Be unconditionally admitted and enrolled as a graduate degree-seeking student. 3.Be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. 4.Be in good academic standing and meet the GSU Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid Recipients.
Preferred Qualifications
Determined by the duties of the specific job.
1) Applicants must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the writing process. That is, W.C. Consultants must be good writers. Consultants will be trained in the specific approach of GSU's writing center
2) Applicants must be skilled in basic computer technology using Microsoft Office e-mail, using templates to respond to students, helping students determine why they have problems with online submissions, and navigating various websites. While some training for the specific position will be offered, the applicant must possess basic skills.
3) Applicants must demonstrate their ability to work well with students; they must communicate well, listen well, respond in an appropriate manner, and demonstrate patience. This ability will be determined through an interview with the Writing Center Coordinator
