Over 2.3 Million Dollars in College Scholarships are Available for the 2010 school year.
College scholarships are available for both merit and need-based. All scholarships listed on ApplyingToSchool.com are unique and cannot be found elsewhere. All of our scholarships are sponsored by families who are committed to making college possible for students across the U.S.
In 2009, we've awarded more than 1.9 million dollars in merit and need-based scholarships based on the student's intended college major. For 2010, we intend to award more than 2.3 million dollars.
To qualify, simply complete an online application. Scholarships are offered both on merit and need-based. After you have completed the application and submitted your essay, the scholarship committee will review your application and contact you. Essay topics can be found in our application.
To be considered for our free college scholarships, you must include a scholarship essay and submit it with your application. You can do this online, now.

Education Assistant/Tutor in Math or Language Arts
Major Objective:
Provide educational support service for participants.
Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Must be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Must have ability to handle multiple age groups.
• Peer Tutors only- Must have a B or greater in subject tutoring.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To meet every session promptly and ready for that sessions instruction.
• Provide academic assistance either in a group or individually.
• Be responsible for maintaining records on each student who is being tutored, including follow-up and periodic assessment.
• Provide evaluations, summary, or other reports as requested by director.
• Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying.
• Help students develop a high level of motivation in academic area.
• Assist students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated.
• Other duties as assigned.
Hours:
Part Time Position
Monday – Thursday, specific hours to be determined
Salary: $15 and up

Title V Cooperative Grant / Latino Center for Excellence is totally funded through a Title V Collaborative Grant from the U.S. Department of Education in partnership with Morton College in Cicero, Illinois.
The mission of the Title V Cooperative Grant/Latino Center for Excellence is to increase Latino student retention, to raise graduation rates, and to foster an institutional climate of academic success at Governors State University.
As a member, you are eligible to receive the following services free of charge:
- Early intervention alert system. - Academic writing/bilingual tutor - Membership in a professional organization.
- Mini grants for students who present at the GSU research conference in the spring.
- Goal oriented peer and faculty mentoring program.
- Loan book system commitment.
- On-line academic life skills workshops.
- Special scholarship guidance.
- Computer lab with fifteen computers
- Writing and Mathematics tutoring software.
- Individual advising for academic, financial, career, and personal issues:
- Individual academic plan
- FAFSA application support
- Internships and volunteer opportunities
- Professional development empowerment.
- Family, social and academic networking activities and strategies.
- Encouragement and resources to pursue a graduate degree.
Learn how to advocate for yourself, your field, and your community.
